THE DAY I MET WILLIAM 🥹❤️
Part One: The Unexpected Encounter
Have you ever met someone on a day you wished had never happened? A day when everything seemed to be going wrong, only for that same day to become a memory you would never forget?
Well, that was exactly how I met William.
And honestly? I regretted going to the clinic that day. If only I had known what was waiting for me there. 🥹
My name is Clara, and at the time, I had just gained admission into the university. I was still trying to adjust to this new phase of my life when I fell terribly ill.
I was so sick that my mum had to come all the way to my school to check on me.
After she arrived at my hostel, my school sister, Hannah, came around to greet her warmly. My roommate, Hilda, was there too.
After exchanging pleasantries, Hannah insisted that I go to the school clinic.
It was already around 5 p.m.
To be honest, I didn’t even look like someone who was seriously ill. But trust me, I wasn’t feeling fine at all.
So, with Hannah accompanying me, we headed to the clinic.
And let me tell you, I was such a handful on that journey. 😂
From my hostel to the clinic, I kept disturbing Hannah. I was talking, complaining, and probably making her wonder why she had agreed to follow me in the first place.
When we finally arrived, we discovered that the doctor was attending to another patient, so we had to wait.
The nurse checked my temperature, and we settled down to wait for the doctor.
That was when HE WALKED IN.
A guy.
He was on a phone call when he entered, greeting the clinic staff as though he already knew them well.
But did I pay attention to him?
Not really. 😂
I was too busy disturbing Hannah to care about who had just walked into the clinic.
A few minutes later, something caught my attention.
There was a weighing scale on the opposite side of where we were sitting, and the guy was using it.
For some reason, I found myself staring at the weighing scale.
And before you misunderstand me, please note that I was NOT staring at the guy. 😂😭
I was only interested in the weighing scale!
Apparently, he noticed me looking in that direction.
He turned towards me and said something along the lines of:
“You can come and check your weight too. You’ve paid for it, so you might as well use it.”
I got up and walked over to the scale.
I stepped on it, and he helped me check my weight.
After that, he stepped outside to continue his phone call.
I turned to Hannah and asked her to check her weight too.
Nothing special happened after that. At least, not yet.
Eventually, the doctor called me in.
I explained my symptoms, and he prescribed some medication for me. After collecting the prescription, I went to the pharmacy to get my drugs.
Once I was done, Hannah and I headed back outside.
And guess who was still there?
The same guy.
He was still on his phone, so I didn’t pay much attention to him. As usual, I was busy disturbing Hannah.
Then, after finishing his call, he walked towards us.
At first, I thought he wanted to speak to Hannah.
I was even about to excuse myself when he did something unexpected.
He asked for Hannah’s name.
She told him.
Then he asked what department she was in.
“Business Administration,” she replied. “I’m in 300 level.”
He smiled and said he was also in 300 level.
Well, I later discovered that he was only teasing her. 😂
But that wasn’t even the main reason he had approached us.
After a brief conversation, he politely asked Hannah for permission to get to know her sister.
And that sister was ME.
He wanted my phone number.
I was genuinely surprised.
Of all the people in that clinic, why me?
I had gone there because I was sick. I wasn’t dressed up for anything special, and I certainly wasn’t expecting to meet anyone.
Yet, somehow, a guy I had barely noticed was asking for my number.
Hannah gave him my number, and just like that, the unexpected happened.
William and I started chatting that very day. ❤️
And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how it all began.
I went to the clinic because I was sick.
I left with my medication… and a new person in my life.
But little did I know that an ordinary evening at the school clinic would become the beginning of a story worth telling.
To be continued… 👀❤️
PART TWO: The First Conversation.
What do you think happened after William and I started chatting? 👀
