I was singing a song I wrote in my head—a few hums, a little bit of words—while scrolling endlessly on Instagram. I liked it, and then "Strei Obobi" came up. Honestly, I couldn't identify why it became so intense inside me to sing songs that glorify God and express my pain as a sinner.
Mind you, I don't write for you to understand; I just write as my mind captures words, and really, permit me to call it rubbish writing. I call my songs "wack songs" by the way, cause I don't even know what I'm singing...
Back to the matter: in reasonable ways, I express anger. I feel I get angry cause I love and enjoy it so well—it makes me sound like a man who takes no nonsense. But deep down, it carries the burden of an unloved man... that one man who doesn't even love himself wholeheartedly.
"Free yourself from the pain so you heal"—but no one tells you how. No one spells it out to you.
It sounds dumb, but in the meantime, it never really makes sense because the thought of the pain remains.
So do you really free yourself from that pain? Or do you tuck it into a corner and hope it never resurfaces?
