POV - Bella
(The street stretches out into a vast, lonely path, the dark tar vaguely illuminated by the dim street lights. A few souls can be seen, but they seem content to stay in the shadows, adding to the fear she feels as she makes her way home.)
"What was that thing Madam Ray said about making sure I don't look like a target again? Isn't it weird that my composure determines if I look like easy prey or not?"
POV - Victor
(He has a backpack slung over his shoulders. His eyes dart from corner to corner as he walks, scanning the area cautiously. He sees Bella a few feet ahead. She looks terrified.)
"I know her. She stays in my apartment building. What is she doing out so late at night? This area is not safe. I need to get close enough so they don't think she's alone."
POV - Bella
(She notices a man walking behind her. He's speeding up, like he's trying to catch up with her. She panics and tries to increase her pace.)
"I knew I should have slept in the office! God, please don't let him hurt me. Please! I just want to get home safe!"
POV - Victor
(He sees that she has seen him, and she seems terrified. He deduces that if he tries to get any closer, she'd run and draw unwanted attention. He slows down, but stays close enough not to lose her, all the while glaring at the creepy men in a corner who seem to be looking at her. He keeps that way till they arrive at the apartment complex.)
POV - Bella
(Once the guard opens the gate, she runs in, as fast as her legs can carry her. She doesn't stop till she reaches her apartment. With shaky hands, she calls Bukky.)
Bella: "I just got home! I'm safe."
Bukky: "You sound like you were running. Are you okay? Did something happen?"
Bella: "Some strange man was following me! He kept trying to get close. I can't stop shaking. What if he tried to hurt me?"
Bukky: Good God! That's it! I'm speaking to Larry tomorrow. No more night shifts for you. Sorry babe. You're safe now. Get some rest. I'll come check on you tomorrow."
POV - Victor
(He reaches the gate of the apartment complex, greets the guard, and heads to the third floor, where his apartment is)
"Thank God she's alright. I'd have to speak to her tomorrow about being out so late."
