Afterthought
Am I an Afterthought? A question I dwell upon daily, A sore-throat question, Answers swallowed with difficulty. I disagree in great disbelief; This can't be my reality, This can't be all there is to me. There is more, I keep muttering under my breath. A piece of the puzzle is missing, I keep searching for a clue, Scrambling for words, trying to make sense of it all. Am I a pawn on this chessboard called life? Am I being monopolized or chased like a snake without a ladder, Leading to either misery or frustration? So I get on my knees to pray For clarity like a 7 a.m. bright sky, Craving direction as a midday snack. May my evening be filled with contentment, And my night decorated with many achievements.
