SATURDAYS WITH THE WIND
‎Every now and then I remember ‎that I was meant for you— ‎with my dazzled eyes ‎and unworn lips, ‎with my falling heart, ‎crushing brick and wall. ‎I was meant for you ‎in every natural way. ‎In the sky, ‎on the trees, ‎among the stunted and tall grasses; ‎between the wind and its teeth, ‎tearing through our pride; ‎as summer breaks, ‎as the rain falls, ‎as December chases every drop away. ‎Every now and then I recall ‎that I was meant for you, ‎as the sun slips through the clouds ‎into the plants and the soil, ‎deeper than any sword has gone, ‎stronger than any pain has been felt. ‎I know that I was meant for you. ‎But never ‎to be with you. ‎— Shawn ©
