The Trap of a Perfect Start

​In my opinion, starting too well is a trap that leads to ending woefully. Work with me here. ​It seems cool when you have everything at your fingertips: the exact funding you need to start that business without ever pitching to an investor, or that emergency money sitting comfortably in your account. It feels like the business was personally ordained by God. Boom—you start. You have family buying in, friends buying in, your spiritual father coming through to bless the brilliant idea... and suddenly, you feel like you’ve arrived. ​But does reality actually play out that way? ​To me, a "perfect" start is often a trap. It fails to prepare you for the worst—so when the storm finally hits, you are left scrambling. Restart, relapse, close down, or crash out. Sometimes, depression becomes inevitable. ​Now, compare that to the person who sweats blood just to raise the capital for an idea that’s been sitting in his head for seven years. He has spent years obsessing over how to get a single customer. In fact, his own best friend told him, "Nobody will buy this." But his stubborn drive insists: "Brooooo, you don't define my plan. I must make it, and I am prepared for the worst." ​There’s the difference: a rough start hardens you for the worst, while a sweet start pampers you—making the downfall hit ten times harder than you ever imagined. ​They say failure is the best teacher, but I go further: failure is one of the best things that can ever happen to you. Argue with me all you want, but I will stand and defend this anywhere. It gives you a complete reason to rebuild differently. Even if failure comes late, someone still learns from the lesson. ​I’m not saying smooth starts are bad—just prepare for the worst regardless. Because at the end of the day, the only real goal is to win or win
