‎"MY HEART STILL EATS ITSELF" ‎Before I go to bed, ‎I dig out my eyes of cynicism. ‎By morning, ‎I stitch the empty sockets shut ‎before your eyes notice ‎this isn't him. ‎ ‎Every impulse ‎is another knife I call medicine. ‎Every regretful relapse, ‎another organ ‎I place carefully ‎inside the wrong body ‎so the world won't see ‎what keeps rotting. ‎ ‎Something still twitches. ‎It refuses to die. ‎I hate it, especially when I think you lie. ‎But I think it's the only part that still believes in love, that still believes I'm not another stray everyone thinks you'll eventually shove. ‎And I'm terrified that one day my face will split open and all you'll find is an animal I've been calling survival. ‎ ‎                                              Shawn©
