EARLIER OR LATER

Ask me, "What was the most beautiful day of your life?" And I will tell you, "The most beautiful day of my life was also the most painful." The day that became a moment, and the moment that was meant to last a lifetime... chose instead to become only a moment in my lifetime. Yeah… By coincidence, we met. By coincidence, you left. I don't blame you. Nor do I blame myself for letting you go when all I wanted was to keep you close. We were just two souls searching for different things, Walking different roads. Should I blame time instead? Should I question it for bringing you into my life while I was still learning how to live my own? Or should love carry the blame? For weaving our hearts together, knowing they would never survive the way it had planned to pull them apart. Or maybe... the blame belongs to neither. Maybe there was never anyone to blame. Maybe we were only meant to become a moment in our memories And if there is a next time, I hope I find you either much earlier or much later. When we've both become the people life was trying to shape us into. When we've finally found what life had been hiding from us. So that what was once only a moment... can finally become a lifetime.
